This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application (the "App"). Please read this privacy policy carefully. 1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information You Provide
Camera and Photo Library Access
What we collect: Images and photos you capture using your device camera or select from your photo library
Why we need it: To scan and analyze math problems, equations, homework questions, and educational content for solving
How it's used: Images are processed by our AI service (Google Gemini API) to provide step-by-step solutions and explanations
Storage: Images are processed in real-time and are NOT permanently stored on our servers. They are temporarily processed to generate responses and then discarded.
Microphone Access
What we collect: Voice recordings when you use the voice input feature
Why we need it: To convert your spoken questions into text for AI processing
How it's used: Audio is converted to text using on-device speech recognition (Apple's Speech Framework) and then processed by our AI service
Storage: Voice recordings are processed locally on your device and are NOT transmitted to external servers. Only the converted text is sent to our AI service.
Document Access
What we collect: PDF files and documents you upload for the "Ask Document" feature
Why we need it: To analyze document content and answer your questions about them
How it's used: Document content is extracted and processed by our AI service to provide summaries and answers
Storage: Documents are processed in real-time and are NOT permanently stored on our servers.
Text Input
What we collect: Questions, prompts, and text you type into the App
Why we need it: To understand your educational queries and provide relevant answers
How it's used: Text is sent to our AI service (Google Gemini API) for processing
Storage: Your queries may be temporarily logged for quality improvement but are not linked to your personal identity.
1.2 Information Stored Locally on Your Device
The following data is stored ONLY on your device using Apple's secure local storage (SwiftData):
Learning History: Records of solved problems, AI tutor conversations, and tool results
Bookmarks: Items you choose to bookmark for quick access
Flashcards: Study sets, questions, and answers you create or generate
Preferences: App settings, selected themes, and user preferences
Important: This locally stored data is NOT transmitted to our servers. It remains on your device and is deleted when you uninstall the App.
1.3 Information Collected Automatically
Usage Analytics
We may collect anonymous usage statistics to improve the App
This includes: features used, session duration, crash reports
No personally identifiable information is included
Device Information
Device type and model
Operating system version
App version
This helps us optimize performance and fix bugs
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
Provide AI-powered educational assistance and homework help
Process and solve math problems, equations, and academic questions
Generate flashcards, study materials, and practice quizzes
Translate text and check grammar
Summarize documents, videos, and audio content
Improve our AI models and App functionality
Provide customer support
Send important updates about the App (with your consent)
3. Third-Party Services
3.1 Google Gemini API
We use Google's Gemini AI service to process your educational queries. When you submit a question:
Your text, images, or document content is sent to Google's servers for AI processing
Google processes this data according to their Privacy Policy
We do not control how Google handles data on their servers
Google may use the data to improve their AI services as per their terms
3.2 Apple Services
App Store and Subscriptions: Payment processing is handled by Apple. We do not collect or store your payment information.
iCloud: If you enable iCloud backup, your local App data may be included in your device backup
3.3 YouTube API (YouTube Summarizer)
When you use the YouTube Summarizer feature, we access publicly available video information
We do not access your YouTube account or personal YouTube data

All data transmission uses HTTPS/TLS encryption
Local data is stored using Apple's secure SwiftData framework
We do not store sensitive personal data on our servers
Images and documents are processed in real-time and not retained
6. Children's Privacy
Solver AI is designed for educational purposes and may be used by students of all ages under parental supervision. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without parental consent.
If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at support@solverai.app, and we will delete such information.
7. Your Rights and Choices
7.1 Access and Control
You have the right to:
Access: View all data stored locally in the App
Delete: Clear your history, bookmarks, and flashcards at any time
Opt-out: Deny camera, microphone, or photo library permissions in your device Settings
Uninstall: Remove the App and all locally stored data
7.2 Managing Permissions
You can manage App permissions at any time:
Go to your device Settings
Select Solver AI
Toggle permissions for Camera, Microphone, Photos, etc.
7.3 California Residents (CCPA)
If you are a California resident, you have additional rights:
Right to know what personal information is collected
Right to delete personal information
Right to opt-out of sale of personal information (we do NOT sell your data)
Right to non-discrimination for exercising your rights
7.4 European Users (GDPR)
If you are in the European Economic Area, you have rights under GDPR including:

8. Data Sharing
We do NOT sell your personal data.

Your data may be processed in countries outside your residence (including the United States where Google's servers are located). By using the App, you consent to this transfer. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for international data transfers.

11. Subscription Information
Subscription payments are processed by Apple
We do not have access to your payment card details
Subscription management is handled through your Apple ID account
